There’s power in words. Beauty in words. Grace in words. Words create movement. They craft nations. They seal a marriage. They make us laugh. They focus our attention. They expand our horizons. They stimulate our creativity. And they script our possibilities.”

Those are the 10words that struck me deep in my heart and spirit as I read Mike Ashcraft and Rachel Olsen‘s newest book and DVD resource, My One Word.

Many of us even Christians list down our New Year’s Resolutions wishing, hoping, dreaming, and praying that before the end of the year, our minds will be transformed, our hearts changed, and lives improved for the better.

We go on enumerating the Top 20 things we need to discipline ourselves with, embrace as our new habits, and remove from our lifestyles.

No matter how hard we try, all efforts directed towards those goals seem futile.

Such predicament paved the way for a mega-church pastor of Port City Community Church, Mike Ashcraft to build a movement – My One Word, trying it on himself first before teachings others to do the same. He asked Rachel Olsen, Proverbs 31 Movement national speaker to co-author with him.

The principle behind it is you think of just MY ONE WORD you want to focus on for one entire year. You may think of 3 parameters to pick the right word for you.

1 – Determine the person you want to become.

2 – Identify the characteristics of that person.

3- Pick a word

After picking the right word for this year, you allow God to move in your life making that MY ONE WORD as a lens in examining your heart, character, and life.

Journaling is highly recommended so that you can daily write down your meditations on that word, your experiences as you imbibe it in your entire being, and the changes you noticed within manifesting outwardly.

If there’s one book at this season to pick, this is it. It has been years that this MY ONE WORD movement is spreading like wildfire even Klove radio ran a campaign supporting and promoting its vision and mission.

Well, MY ONE WORD this year LOVE. To love God above all, love myself, and love others even those who do not love me in return and seem to be unlovable.

I start this right at this moment. What’s your ONE WORD?

I like the tone of this book that reflected the heart of this movement and the authors. Very enlightening and conversational as if the authors are in front of you in a coffee table sharing their discoveries and experiences in a joyful and at times funny way.

There’s this authentic sense of concern and care for the world in this book. Just imagine if a family, community, school, office, business, church, organization, city, nation, continent, and the world will apply the simple yet profound truths in this book, there will be spiritual transformation and life change individually and corporately.

As the book’s main theme and tagline goes –

Do something about one thing. Instead of nothing about everything.”

The spiritual transformation is sustainable, operable, and ingrained deep in the heart and character of each person applying MY ONE WORD.

Think about it. One word each year, 5 words in 5 years, and so on. If we teach our kids this concept at an early stage, it will be many words for years in their lifetime that can impact and make their lives meaningful and surrendered to God.

Perfect for individual, family and small groups. Join us in ChristianBooksBibles.com as we take part in MY ONE WORD movement.
